The purpose of the project is to investigate the role of religious factors both in justifying the ideology of war and in resisting Russian aggression. The project examines the ongoing war in the broader context of past and present interfaith and church-state relations in both Russia and Ukraine, as well as the associated challenges for leading centers of ecumenical Christianity and official ecumenical dialogue.
